Unite & Renew is a philanthropic venture fund, dedicated to protecting and renewing American democracy through strategic investments. We don’t back candidates, parties, or policy outcomes. We back the best teams working to make America’s system of government more secure, functional, and trusted for our children’s generation.

Where We Stand

For eight generations, the American Experiment – self-government by a free and equal people in a highly diverse society – has been the world’s best idea. Always contested and never fully realized, it has nonetheless created more human flourishing than any other system. Today, the Experiment is at serious risk: extremism is driving dysfunction, cynicism, and violence.

In other crucible moments throughout our history, Americans have united to protect democracy and improve it for the next generation. Today, the Unite & Renew community has come together – across party lines – to do the same.

Our Strategy

Unite & Renew finds and invests in the very best teams doing two things:

1. Defend core institutions of democracy

Defending and strengthening core institutions of democracy, especially free, fair, nonviolent elections through legal, legislative, and political action.
